Chinatown and Somboon
Bangkok's Chinatown looks like SF's
Chinatown only much bigger and even more congested. Sometimes the
sidewalks are so packed it is faster to walk on the street, but then
cars are double parked, so it is a traffic nightmare. Below are some
shots of the streets. Make sure you scroll to the bottom to see some
pictures of our meal at Somboon Seafood Restaurant.
Somboon Seafood Restaurant
These pictures are for Betty who
requested pictures of food. We took the Skytrain to his restaurant and
had six delicious dishes. We neglected to photograph two of the river
prawn dishes. One was HUGE
grilled river prawns and the other was steamed river prawns. We guess
we will have to go back so we can show them to Betty! We got so
into the food that we totally forgot to snap the pictures. The meal was
delicious. The restaurant's specialty is curried crab and it was even
better than I remembered it. The other dishes: scallops with asparagus
and black mushrooms, fried morning glory and spicy whole fish.
