Silom CentrePoint Bangkok

While in Bangkok we are staying at the Centre Point in the Silom District of Bangkok. It has surpassed our expectations. We had asked for a river view one-bedroom apartment. For some unknown reason, we have been upgraded to a much larger corner one-bedroom apartment that takes up the entire corner of the 21st floor. It has a city view from the living room and a river view from  the bedroom. There is a wrap-around balcony that we can walk on to see the sights. The only complaint is the smog. It does impact the sky but otherwise everything is spectacular.

Service here is incredible. There are people who press the elevator keys for you when you get on and off an elevator and are always there to open doors,, etc. They also provide a complimentary buffet breakfast in the 1st floor restaurant. It is served daily from 6-11 AM and includes American and Thai traditional breakfast and lunch foods (coffee, tea, juices, fresh fruit, cereals, pancakes, waffles, eggs, omlettes, bacon, sausage, toast, jasmine rice, teriyaki chicken, chow mein, shrimp or pork congee, salted eggs, salad, lunch meats, Thai soups, etc.)

There is enough food to survive all day and it is really good. Lots of fresh fruit and juices.  I am growing fond of shrimp congee. It is spicy and so tasty. On the bottom floor of the apartment complex is a large Robinson's department store, a Top's supermarket and a mall with Thai and American fast food and anything you could want to buy. Prices are really good. Yes, there is a Kentucky Fried Chicken and MacDonald's but we do not intend to try them. We are very conveniently located, and there are both a sky-train station and a river-boat pier nearby too.

The complex also has a pool, exercise room, library, computer and printer stations, beauty salon and massage center. We are living in paradise.

The apartment has double doors leading into it. The entry is black marble as is the floor in the complete full kitchen. There is a washer/dryer combo, dining room, large bathroom with black marble floors and floor to ceiling granite walls. The bathroom is bigger than our bathroom and the bedroom is probably twice the size of our bedroom. There are teak built-ins everywhere and even a walk-in closet dressing area. The apartment comes fully equipped with two televisions, three telephones (one in the bathroom), a stereo with large speakers, DVD player and DSL connection  for fast internet.

We have it all!
